Repair Compound for Manufactured Stone Veneer Stone Aid (CAN’STONE repair kit)(STONE+AID)

Installation Guide

0. What you need

  • STONE AID

  • Plastic spatula or similar

  • Plastic sheeting for masking

  • Masking tape

1. Preparing for work

First, scrub the area to be repaired with a brush to remove dirt.

■Caution

If you use a liquid, rinse the area with clean water (acidic cleaners must not be used) and let the surface dry completely before applying STONE AID.

2. Repairing the brick tile

[ Base coat ]

Apply the STONE AID base color over the whole repair area, working it into cracks and screw holes.

■Caution

Right after application STONE AID may look whitish, but once it dries (after all the work is finished) it will match the color of the STONE. Do not wait for the [ base coat ] to dry — move straight on to the next step, [ adding nuance ].

[ Adding nuance ]

Apply the shading colors so that they follow the pattern of the stone.

■ POINT

Aim for a coat about 1mm thick. (A thicker coat takes longer to dry.)

■ POINT

If a shade cannot be matched with a single color, mix the base color with a shading color to adjust the tone.

Applying it roughly gives a more natural finish.

3. Repairing the joints

Choose the matching joint color from the STONE AID set and apply it to the repair area.

■ POINT

As a precaution, check the joints in the rows above and below for cracks as well.

Cracks sometimes run along the same vertical line.

4. Checking and inspection

Let the repair dry for at least 2 hours, then check its color.

If the color of the repair still stands out, apply a little of the same STONE AID around it to blend the repair into the surrounding surface.

Precaution
