This is the installation method for exterior floor tiles (secondary cement products).
Applicable substrate: Cement, concrete
1. Surface preparation
To prevent water from stagnating, make sure the base is sloped and allow sufficient time for the base to cure.
Check that the base is properly prepared, that it is smooth, and that there are no cracks.
If there are any cracks or unevenness, repair them.
After checking the above, apply an adhesive enhancer (primer) with a roller or similar and make sure the surface is dry.
2. Applying pressure-bonded mortar
During installation or curing, do not carry out installation when it is expected to rain, the temperature is low, or the humidity is high.
Apply pressure-bonding mortar for exterior tiles to a smooth surface.
Consider using an anti-efflorescence agent to prevent efflorescence.
3. Paste
Arrange the tiles temporarily and then install them while making sure to minimize unevenness.
Press the product in the same way as regular large tiles or stone. When doing this, be sure to use a rubber hammer to firmly press the product down so that no hollows are created on the back side. Check the area being installed during installation, and if there are any large uneven areas, remove the product and apply mortar to the back side of the product to adjust the unevenness as you install it. After installation, check that the unevenness has been adjusted. Do not use in areas where the product may be buried in snow or in areas where it may be submerged. Please consult our sales department when installing on a waterproof base (FRP, urethane, etc.).
4.Joint Finishing
Fill the joints with mortar. Be sure to fill the joints up to the surface of the product (to prevent tripping).
Wipe off any grout stains on the surface with a sponge that has been soaked in water and wrung out. The stains will become harder to remove over time.
After completion, inspect the area and refill any gaps that are not completely filled.
5.Curing
Be sure to cover the product with a sheet or other covering to protect it from rain and wind.
If exposed to rain after installation, it can cause efflorescence.
Do not stand on or place objects on the construction area during construction.
*It will take about a week to cure until the final hardening. Please try to keep the area as well ventilated as possible until hardening is complete.
