WORKS
For the interior of a personal gym in Bunkyo-ku, Tokyo, designed by 勝見宜史・隆子建築設計事務所, CAN’STONE stone-look faux stone wall materials “Lava Stone (LAV-1)” and “Coral (COR-1)” were chosen, together with the imported tile “LIVORNO (BLANCO)“.
▎CAN’STONE “Lava Stone (LAV-1)”
The corridor wall is finished with “LAV-1”, an irregularly shaped faux stone that reproduces the texture of volcanic rock. White joints make the outline of each stone stand out, giving the whole surface a varied expression. Indirect lighting set in at floor level brings out the unevenness of the stone and creates a sense of depth.
▎CAN’STONE “Coral (COR-1)”
The counter legs in the training room use “COR-1”, a white faux stone inspired by coral rock. Its surface has a rugged, rough character, while the white tone keeps the volume from feeling heavy and lets it blend lightly with the wooden counter top.
▎LIVORNO “BLANCO”
The wall behind the counter is covered with the imported tile LIVORNO “BLANCO”. Each piece carries a different gloss, giving a handmade character that adds rhythm and depth to the white wall.
